For Beginners:
What is mini pickleball?
Mini Pickleball is a fun, social and exciting sport for all ages!
Think of it as tennis, ping pong, meets badminton. There’s a net in the middle of a court, paddles which are smaller than a tennis racquet but larger than a ping pong paddle and a lightweight ball (similar to a wiffle ball). You can play singles or doubles, just like traditional tennis but the court playing area is smaller, 44 feet long and 20 feet wide. At the Unionville Athletic Club our courts are approximately 25% smaller which accommodates beginners.
From children to retirees, Mini Pickleball is for everyone. The compact court is easy to cover and less strenuous than in tennis. You won't even notice that you are exercising as you play this non-threatening and entertaining game.
The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for experienced players.
